[One evening, not long at all after Lena comes clean about the wand, Webby may realize a rat - Louie's familiar Cash, specifically - is following her with a note in his mouth.]
["HEADING TO YOUR ROOM RIGHT NOW TO DISCUSS THIS ASAP"
Louie looks at the Bulletin Board one more time and sighs. Not only did he blow his cover here, but he got Webby wrapped up in a mess. Once again, he needs someone to bail him out. This is really becoming a problem.
She'll be there soon, he figures, so he heads up to his room and takes Cash out of his cage, letting the rat nest in his bedsheets as Louie sat beside him.]
[This is a tricky situation, he realizes in the time it takes Webby to get there. On one hand, she might not be happy to know that he knew about the wand before she did. On the other, he can't lie to her after Lena just got caught lying to her. He may be the evil triplet, but that's just cruel. He doesn't really have much choice, does he? Or much time to think about it, once he spots Webby.]
[She skids to a halt when she sees him, stumbling a bit. Is she still kind of mad for holding a secret? Yes. But time has managed to cool down her anger, and she did have her 'revenge', so this shouldn't be so bad.
Thanks, but I don't know much so far. I saw this guy when I was down by the docks in town - I wanted to see what kind of things the merchants were bringing in. 'Cause it's going to be important, when I start my business, to know exactly what-
[The squeak from Cash that interrupts him sounds surprisingly irritated.]
...So, anyway, there was a pirate ship there. Definitely, one-hundred per-cent a pirate ship, and this guy I've been seeing around the school lately - I'm pretty sure he's the same guy I saw come off that boat.
I sent Cash after him, but I couldn't figure much out from that.
[He gives the rat an appreciative scritch between his ears.]
Hmmm... if he is who you think he is, we need to think about his goals. If he's pirate, and he's here by himself in a disguise, why is he doing that?
[She walks as she talks, trying to put the pieces together.]
Not everyone here goes to the market, they mostly stay around school - because we're from other worlds, we're still trying to get a grip on things. And the students who originally come from this world are devoted to their studies. So that's twofold why he might be confident no one would recognize him. This would allow him to roam the school freely... which leads me to two conclusions!
[Stops, with a bit of a twirl, dramatic point!]
He's here to steal something valuable from the school, or he's trying to find the weak spots of the school so he can his entire crew can attack and plunder easier!
[There we go. She watches him a moment longer... and then smiles in relief.]
You have no idea how good that is hear.
[With that, sudden hug! Sure, she's not pleased about the state of he and Lena's relationship, but it can be fixed, now that they got past all the nasty stuff!
In fact, Webby may be coming up an idea or two...]
[A good, long squeeze before she begins to pull away.]
Nobody's perfect. I'm just glad I can have my friends again. You both mean a lot me, okay? And when you don't tell me stuff, it feels like you don't trust me.
I'm always going to be there for you, even when you mess up and make me mad.
[Louie, during this whole speech, leans back and lounges on his bed as he listens. He'd come to the same conclusions, although his was based on the idea that "this is what pirates do" and not so much actual thinking.]
Okay, but I still need to make sure it's really him before I tell Professor King or anyone.
[ Delivered by a an excitable bird, Webby will get this letter in the mail. If she chooses to search out this hidden treasure, it'll lead her to one of the nearby parks. Inside the chest she'll have to dig up is a bunch of chocolate coins and a dumb little kid tiara. ]
